I Have Been Waiting 15 Years To Be Offered Free Dr. Pepper

File this story under BREAKING NEWS.

In March, soft drink producer Dr. Pepper issued a challenge to Axl Rose; if you release your album by the end of the 2008 calendar year, we will give everyone in America (excluding Slash and Buckethead) free Dr. Pepper. Well, thank you for not blowing this one, Axl. Mark your calendars, for on November 23rd Chinese Democracy will be released, after nearly 15 years of recording, infighting, reconstituting a line-up, recording, infighting, touring abortion, hiatus, another new line-up, another cancelled tour, recording, and recording. I may have missed a few instances of infighting. Also, one tour was apparently successful.

Chinese Democracy will be Guns N' Roses sixth studio album, the first since 1993's The Spaghetti Incident. The record is set to be the first in a trilogy of new GNR records, the last of which is rumored to see release in 2012. In keeping with the latest trends, Chinese Democracy will be made available exclusively through Best Buy. Most importantly, on November 23rd, for 24 hours only, you can register at the Dr. Pepper website for a voucher to obtain your free can of Dr. Pepper.

In other breaking Chinese Democracy news, Kevin Cogill recently (Oct. 20) entered a plea of not guilty for posting 9 tunes from GNR's upcoming record on his blog. Check back this Friday morning for Chinese Democracy updates.
