The Great Burrito Debate: Baja Fresh

What is it about Mexican chains that just don't work out well? For the most part, burritos at nationwide places just don't measure up -- the exception, of course, being Chipotle. Baja Fresh, unfortunately, could not compete. It started off well enough, with a complimentary basket of chips and an awesome salsa bar. Said salsa bar was a great touch, providing many choices -- pico de gallo, more spicy hot sauce, mango salsa, so on and so forth. Sadly, the burrito itself did not live up to the high [salsa] bar that had set the tone. It was uninspiring, with mediocre ingredients and pasty, gross guacamole. As can be the problem with chains, it just wasn't fresh and tasty. You meant well, Baja Fresh, really, but I'm not sure if we can see each other any more. I know you tried, and the salsa bar was cute, but we just can't be together. It's not me, it's you.Baja Fresh has locations nationwide. Full ratings and rankings below:
