As I bask in the glow of finally seeing Radiohead live, I thought it would be an opportune time to mention pianist Christopher O'Riley. He's a classically trained pianist who performs not just Stravinsky and Ravel, but music by contemporary composers such as Radiohead and Elliott Smith. This background makes for some stellar music -- he's released four cover albums: two of Radiohead, one of Elliott Smith and one of Nick Drake. The Radiohead covers are especially amazing, and it's a breath of fresh air to hear the now-classic songs re-interpreted so musically and so vibrantly. Christopher O'Riley is a magnificent pianist, and he should appeal to a wide array of music lovers.
