The Dodos

The Dodos have gotten better with each subsequent release, and their latest album, Visiter (yes, it's misspelled on purpose), is their best yet. Their unique style of music shows influences from all across the board -- folk, psychedelic, tribal, pop, rock. It's rather immediate music, with layers of classic folk instrumentation mixed amidst African-like drumming (reminiscent of Animal Collective). As an album, every song flows wonderfully into the next composition, making you feel like you're at a live performance. I'm looking forward to seeing them at an actual live performance at the Pitchfork Music Festival in July.
