I'll admit it, I was late to jump on the Grizzly Bear train. It took me some time to get into them. When I first checked them out, I thought nothing of it. I would read about them over and over, and occasionally check it out again, just to make sure I hadn't missed something. Still, nothing. It wasn't until this year, as a friend played them for me -- while driving through a dark thunderstorm -- that it finally clicked. Who knows why it took me so long, but I realize just how exquisite the music is now. Their sophomore album, Yellow House, is a masterpiece. It's one of those albums that washes over you with an intense wall of sound -- there are so many layers of music piled on top one of each other. A few weeks ago, while I was in New Hampshire, I took a 2 AM walk through the trees during a snowstorm, whilst I listened to Yellow House. I highly recommend listening to Grizzly Bear in that context.Grizzly Bear - Easier (from Yellow House)

this is how it clicks for everyone (me too)
