Ah, Blonde Redhead. As I mentioned when I wrote about Deerhoof, Blonde Redhead's Fake Can Be Just As Good was one of the first indie rock albums that I fell in love with, before I had "indie" tastes. It was that album along with a few Deerhoof albums (Apple O' and Milk Man) that changed my music tastes completely.Blonde Redhead have consistently created interesting albums throughout their career. Much of their music features Sonic Youth-inspired guitar lines, driving drumming, and Kazu Makino's high-pitched voice, although she is not the only one who sings. Their earlier albums were more experimental, and their later albums have been more melodious. They have all been pretty captivating. Next Tuesday sees the release of 23, their seventh full-length.
